South Africa and Zambia – Prevalence Survey using OneStopTB Clinic
TB prevalence surveys were conducted in urban and peri-urban areas with high HIV prevalence to improve understanding of TB burden and support timely diagnosis.
Community-based prevalence survey
Mobile field sites were established in each community to support TB prevalence screening.
OneStopTB Mobile Clinic deployment
The OneStopTB Clinic was equipped with digital X-ray, CAD4TB with cloud connectivity, and an on-board laboratory.
AI-supported image analysis
Digital chest X-rays were analyzed using CAD4TB to support detection of TB and non-TB abnormalities.
On-site molecular testing
GeneXpert testing was performed in the mobile clinic laboratory.
- “Digital X-rays provided excellent image quality… also, an advantage was that using the CAD enabled to peak non-TB abnormalities”.
- Thanks to the lab installed in the truck, results were ready within 24 hours; no need for sputum sample transportation to external sites.
