Rwanda
Tuberculosis remains a public health concern in Rwanda, despite progress in reducing TB-related deaths. Gaps in diagnosis and care, including TB-HIV co-infection, highlight the continued need for early detection and accessible screening services.

Our work in Rwanda
2011
Our work in Rwanda began with the delivery of two Delft OneStopTB X-ray Clinics to the National Tuberculosis Programme under the Ministry of Health. Equipped with digital X-ray systems and CAD4TB, and delivered to the National AIDS Control Commission with funding from the Global Fund and the World Bank, the units supported the national TB prevalence survey. The clinics were connected via mobile networks to a central archive in Kigali, enabling digital image transmission for expert review and timely decision-making.
2023
We expanded our support by providing 2 additional CAD4TB systems to strengthen the country’s capacity for TB screening and triage. These continued efforts help Rwanda push toward earlier detection and more equitable access to care.
