Delft Light

Ultra-portable, easy to setup X-ray

The most widely used ultra-portable, battery-powered, CE-certified X-ray system for TB screening in community and remote settings.

Reaching vulnerable populations at their point of need

For people in remote regions, getting a simple X-ray can mean long travel, high costs and waiting time. These barriers often lead to missed diagnoses and delayed treatment. Portable X-ray systems bring screening to the point of care, helping reduce travel, prevent loss to follow-up and expand access to screening.

Trusted by TB programs in more than 65 countries, Delft Light enables mobile, efficient, and safe screening wherever it is needed.

Robust and durable

A battery-operated X-ray system that can be charged using a portable solar panel, eliminating the need for the national grid or diesel generator, designed to withstand high temperatures and humidity, and housed in sturdy cases for transport by car, motorcycle, or boat.

High-throughput in the field

Delivers up to 400 exposures per charge,
enabling high-volume screening days
without interruption.

Screening at scale

Ultra-portable and weighing less than 30 kg, Delft Light can be rapidly deployed and set up in under 10 minutes, enabling large-scale TB screening across remote, mobile, and hard-to-reach populations.

Multifunctional imaging

Designed for chest X-rays and also suitable for extremities, injuries, and pediatric use with dedicated adapters.

Operator safety

A lead apron, thyroid collar, and long exposure hand switches are included, as well as an electronic personal dosimeter (optional).

Seamless AI integration

Compatible with CAD4TB+ and other digital diagnostic platforms for strengthening TB case-finding.

Co-creating the future of lung health

Dr. Khay Mar Aung The Cambodia Prevalence Survey Core Team

“In our experience, the Delft Light is portable and easy to set up. It performs up to 250 exposures on a full charge, and operational hours extend to 16 hours. In the field, we typically screen 150-200 participants daily. The CAD4TB system, paired with Delft Light, offers high-quality X-ray images and user-friendly functionality. The rapid generation of CAD scores, along with heat maps, significantly aids in not missing crucial cases. As of June 2023, about 99% of participants underwent CXR.”

Dr Jean Pierre Kabuayi Expert in TB Epidemiological Surveillance, Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene, and Prevention, DR Congo

“[…] those different people trained during the installation of digital x-rays had the support, the great support. The Delft team support were able to discuss with them of the different elements put in place, how to use them.”

Dr. Soumana Alphazazi Pulmonologist and Phthisiologist, and National Coordinator of the National Tuberculosis Control Program in Niger

“Tuberculosis remains a serious public health problem. Much progress has been made, but the road ahead is still long. With decreasing funding, the integration of innovative tools like ultra-portable X-ray and CAD into our national program is not just beneficial – it’s necessary. These technologies have allowed us to detect cases earlier, reduce transmission, and reach vulnerable populations where traditional methods fall short. If we want to end tuberculosis by 2030, innovation and resource mobilization are our strongest path forward.”
