CAD4TB+ is being used in Nigeria

CAD4TB+

The world’s first integrated AI solution that brings together TB and lung health screening with real-time surveillance, hotspot mapping, and data-driven program insights to support national-scale implementation.

Closing the gap with integrated lung health screening

People in remote and hard-to-reach communities often face delays in TB detection because trained radiologists and experienced readers are not always available. Timely detection is critical: it helps people start treatment earlier, reduces transmission, and improves outcomes.

All in one unified system

Tuberculosis + General lung health + Real-time disease surveillance

CE-certified*, proven and scalable

CAD4TB+ is the world’s most widely used and validated AI for tuberculosis (TB) detection, now expanded to help strengthen health systems and national TB programs. It analyzes chest X-rays for people ages 4 and older and provides TB and abnormality scores, a radiological heatmap, and a cardiothoracic ratio for every exam. These outputs support clinical decision-making and program reporting.

Multi-abnormality lung capacity

Supports integrated respiratory programs by generating both a TB score and a consolidated lung health score, enabling accurate screening and referral for silicosis and 10 other lung abnormalities, including pleural effusion, consolidation, pleural thickening, lung opacity, emphysema, nodule or mass, fibrosis, atelectasis, infiltration, and pneumothorax.

Real-time surveillance

Tracks screening coverage, probable cases, vulnerable areas, and program assets, transforming data into actionable insights for national and regional planning.

Rapid analysis and Data-driven insights

Results delivered in under 5 seconds. Converts screening and surveillance data into operational intelligence that supports strategic decision-making at national and regional levels.

Flexible deployment

Runs offline or online, supporting even the most remote and resource-constrained settings.

Seamless integration

CAD4TB+ integrates directly with digital X-ray systems and national health platforms, eliminating the need for separate hardware. Reports can be exported via QR code and securely shared across approved communication platforms.

Training, service, and support are part of the full solution.
They help teams adopt and use CAD4TB+ effectively, maintain continuity over time, and strengthen implementation in the field. See how CAD4TB+ helps connect screening data, program monitoring, and mapping insights to support TB response across locations.

  • Detect cases earlier through digital X-ray and AI-supported chest X-ray analysis.
  • Monitor program performance with real-time screening data.
  • Map trends and gaps to identify high-burden areas and support targeted outreach.
  • Turn connected data into practical insights for action across sites.

Co-creating the future of lung health

Mr Christopher Togara Procurement and Supply Management Officer, IOM

“CAD/AI will be a more sensitive diagnostic pathway to early detection of tuberculosis prioritising populations more at-risk for TB.”

Dr Stella Zawedde-Muvanja Research Scientist- The Infectious Disease Institute, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University- Uganda

“In Uganda, CAD4TB is utilised in two settings: community outreaches and health facilities. For outreaches, digital X-rays and CAD machines housed in the OneStopTB Clinic vans travel through rural areas for widespread screening. Here, everyone at the outreach receives a chest X-ray as the initial screen, regardless of TB symptoms. If their score is 50 or higher, they proceed to GeneXpert testing. In health facilities, CAD4TB enhances the efficiency of the triage system, being used in a slightly different way.”

Dr Adeel Tahir Director TB Program, Mercy Corps, Pakistan

“The best thing that CAD4TB has done that accuracy of diagnosis has been increased. When we use the score generated by CAD4TB, our physicians who are in the chest camps, they are quite comfortable and confident that ordering the sputum sample for these patients for GeneXpert would yield results. And the accuracy of software is quite high.”
